Principal Scientist, Synthetic Organic Chemistry - Belgium
Excellent Package
You will join an established biopharmaceutical company, dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialisation of innovative pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical products in the fields of CNS and immunology.
Reporting to the Head of Combinatorial Chemistry, you will take responsibility for further developing and exploiting high-throughput organic synthesis technologies, championing these methodologies within the wider Chemistry department. You will invent and develop the appropriate synthetic routes and methodologies to prepare new molecules/scaffolds to support the therapeutic projects, implementing microfluidics/continuous flow technologies and tools to improve speed, efficiency and robustness of synthetic processes.
You will have a PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry, backed by several years' post-doctoral experience in flow chemistry, ideally gained within the pharmaceutical industry. This may have been gained within a Research or Development/Scale-up environment. You will bring to the role significant expertise in the field of modern organic synthesis combined with state-of-the-art knowledge in microfluidics/continuous flow chemistry. Experience in asymmetric organocatalysis, biocatalysis and solid phase support tools would be a clear asset. You will demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills and the ability to thrive in a strongly collaborative multi-disciplinary research environment.
